1970 Olds 442 Inner & Outer Tail light Lense??

I was on The Parts Place site and they have inner AND outer tail light lenses.
I never heard of that. How do they work together?

The inner fits inside the outer and I've heard it called a diffuser. It has ridges in it that I believe helps the light reflect and light up the whole tail light rather than just the center where the bulb is.

also note that there are three different versions of the outer taillights. One is solid red with the grey sides (as you linked to), one is red with a grey stripe around the middle and the other has a chrome stripe around that middle. Also, I believe the Rallye 350 had a fourth version (all red or was it blacked out edges?)

The Rallye was blacked out sides instead of grey.

That's good to know! My car does not currently have the inner diffuser lenses.
I guess I'll add that to the list of items to order for my car.

Thanks!!
