Gas tank sender wire (brown) how does it route? '68 442

Hi guys- after years of using my 442 as a crap holder in the garage I finally cleared a path and started doing a little work.

My gas tank has been out for years- when I removed it I cut the brown lead about a foot from the sending unit. For the life of me I can not find the wire this connects to - I'm curious if anyone knows the path this brown wire takes from sending unit - does it go up into the trunk and then to the fuel gauge or does it go under the car. Sorry for the dump question- I must have messed with the other end of the wire years ago.

Also- the gas tank- I have the standard 442 two line system- both connect to the sending unit and follow hard lines to the front of car. There are two additional tubes at the corner of the tank....Are these vents? Is there a fitting that goes on there?

I should have taken better notes when I pulled it all apart.

Any help appreciated. I'm gonna make some progress on this pile in 2017.

Thanks,
Mike

The brown wire is routed above the gas tank towards the filler neck/license plate area and goes into the trunk through a rubber grommet above the filler neck. Just inside the trunk it has a connector to the harness that runs along the left rear edge of the trunk.

Mike, at the corner of the tank there should be two hoses connecting the tank to a plastic tube, inside this tube is a sponge to catch any fuel from coming out - this a vent for the tank. I just replaced my tank, lines and tube.

Thanks Tom- that's exactly what I'm missing. Looks like a 1960's approach to pollution control!

Looks like I've dug myself another hole- a simple gas tank installation turned into full rear brake rebuild, axle bearings, seals, shocks and universal joints. I'm giving myself two weeks to finish this and move on to the front - test firing motor, brake lines (pain in ***) etc.
