Goodoldsguy, your '68 is gorgeous...love the color too...did you buy it new? Did you order it the way you wanted? Also, 442much, love the colonade also. Any news yet from the bodyshop. I'm dying to see pics. Or am I a day late and a dollar short

They had some small pieces done last week, but I didn't go in. I wanted to see a little more progress so I will be going to see it on Friday and will bring my camera as always. I'll post then. Thanks.

Thanks for your comments....I bought it in 68 new from my local dealer in NYC. 442's were hard to get....especially in June. I bought this one off the showroom floor (it was sold to me new, a zone rep had ordered it for a demo but never got to drive it.) The car is loaded with vinyl roof, power windows, power seat, remote mirror, automatic, am-fm radio, rallye stripe, 3:42 gears, trunk lite etc.

If clones count: 1 year, 4 months, 17 days...
I am waiting for her mileage count (with me) to equal the dollar amount put into her since I bought her...
It will be a while until I can do that transcontinental run and back!
I remember the first time I put gas in her to start the trip back home from Hilton Head, SC, a guy at the station asked me if I was wanting to sell her...
I told him no and he asked how long i had her... "About a day..." I said!

My dad ordered mine brand new and delivered in late May 1986. #4244 of 4273. My 1st car in 1992 with nearly 100,000 miles on it already. So it's been in the family since birth.Someday I want a '65 F85 442 and a '70 442 to join it in the garage. That would be really cool.

Post a couple pics of your '86 - I have an '86 also! My mom used to have one also, but traded it a while back...

I have to look into that, believe it or not I can't remember - its been over 15 years, I did bring it home on my birthday but for the life of me I can't remember the exact year.
It took so long to actually decide to buy a car and then 6 months to find one. It was a lot harder back then but a lot cheaper too. I do remember thinking I bought at a good time, collector cars crashed between '89 and '91 and really didn't go anywhere until about '98 or so.
