YouTube Road Test

Since this vid was posted in 2008 somebody has probably already posted this but just in case.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcty12ZkOLU

A 1972 Car & Driver road test of a W-30 4 spd convertible. They put this brute to the test. "Drifting" was NOT invented by these hi-tech Japanese tuners.

What's interesting is that the car is a 4 spd. Every road test I ever read was with an automatic.

It's also interesting that they picked a convertible.

If you're gonna drive that fast, you better leave yourself some room.

Great video!

I love the comentator's choice of words.

The front disc brakes come in handy "When you gotta drop the anchor."

I watched the test on the 73 after the 71, apparently they weren't nearly as impressed with the "new" model

I looked up a written review of my wifes 05 Aztek andI was really surprised to find that a 39 year old car stops about the same if not better than a brand new high tech ABS car.

60-0 for the Aztek 139'
50-0 for the Olds 87'
70-0 for the Olds 191' That's a BIG spread over a 50 mph stop

And since mine doesn't have p/b I'm wondering if I'd ever get that monster stopped.

Watch the road test for the Hemi Charger where they casually mention the 7 mpg they got with it. SEVEN!! I get about that with the Olds but they didn't even bat an eye.

I just realized that since this car is a 4 spd W, it didn't have p/b (I know this was true for the '70 and assume it's the same for subsequent years?)
