Wrong rear bumper..Help!

Some reason my 69 442 has a cutlass bumper on it. Finally found a rear bumper, repaired, rechromed and ready to install. Will it bolt to exhisting brackets? are cutlass & 442 brackets the same?
Thanks
Eddie

Yep, you will have to mess with your tailpipes to get the trumpets up in the cutouts though.

I'd love to see a before pic if you have one with the Cutlass Bumper. I would think you are going to have to redo the exhaust hangers at a min.

Actually, the bumper brackets are slightly different. The 442 brackets have an additional tab where the tailpipe hanger attaches. The hanger is different to get the pipes lined up with the cutouts. On the 70-72 cars Olds used the same brackets for both, but for some reason the 68-69 cars used different ones. Now if you're lucky, you already have the correct brackets and just the bumper was changed.
