That W-30 sound (video)
That W-30 sound (video)
Hey Gang,
On a crisp, cold day it's always fun to go for a ride. I took the time to record that "lumpity-lump" sound we all love...courtesy of a W-30 4speed camshaft.
Enjoy!

that must be a 4-speed - sounds great
That color combo must look even better in person, man when it popped up it reminded me of color combos I'd paint model cars as a kid (of course not nearly as well done). Does it look that good live?

Yes, thanks- it does look good in person. Well, in my opinion it does, but keep in mind I have owned it since 1975. The combination is very 70's for sure!
PS- yep, 4 speed.
Jim,
Thanks for posting the video. Beautiful car, but it's the sound I love most.
Does your engine still have the original cam and original compression ratio? Or has it been rebuilt? Also, does it have headers or manifolds?
Sorry for the questions; I just like to archive things (like sounds) that are known to be original.

Yes, the car is all original - cam, exhaust manifolds, compression ratio, etc. The engine has never been opened or rebuilt.
Sometime back in the late 70's I replaced the mufflers. They are not OEM, but were a close replacement. Otherwise, the sound is exactly as it should be.
Cheers!
Jim
