Stupid 442 shifter question ?

I bought a hurst shifter with shifter handle with 442 on it. The handle has "H" and the 442 but no other part #'s so I'm assuming its not OEM? The question is, how do you remove/install the handle ? it looks like it just slides down inside between two pieces of shim-stock ? can someone give me some insight?

Take a feeler gage and slide in down the side, and release the catch that holds it in. Also sounds like a orignal arm to me.

That IS most likely an OEM shifter handle.... I have several that are that way, and are definitely factory installed (OEM).........

post a pic, sounds like a rare three speed handle, there should be part # at bottom near welds

That is an aftermarket Competition Plus shifter. Which in not a bad thing. It is actually better than the OEM version as it has stops built in.
Can't see enough of the handle to be sure, but it does appears to be an OEM '67-'69 handle.

It only needs three. One for first and second, and one for third and forth, and one for reverse.
