Replacing Manual Window Regulator

Hi, I have a 1972 442 with manual windows, and I want to replace the driver's side window regulator(front). It looks like I might be able to get the old regulator out(and new regulator in) by loosening the track bolts at the top and bottom, and propping the window up some way. Just curious if that's correct, or do I have to remove the window to get the old regulator out?

It's been a lot time, but if I recall, I just removed the regulator bolts, then fiddled with the regulator and the glass until I could slide the rollers out of the grooves and then slide the regulator out of the door. I think the glass had to be a bit up at one point and a bit down at another point.

I found the trick to getting the regulator out, without removing the window, was to rotate the regulator counterclockwise(with the window up, supported by a couple of 2x4s) until the crank **** lined up with a flare out in the top of the large center hole of the inner door sheet metal, and then the regulator came right out. If I didn't do that, I couldn't get the **** past the sheet metal.
