protect o plate question

Hello I need to know if the date on the protect o plate would be the same date that would be put on the blue vin sticker that belongs on the driver door? Is that the build date? or can someone tell me the build date of my car thanks

That's right! Warranty document, date in service and miles.

What Chris said. The date on your driver door sticker has only the month and year in mm/yy format and the sticker started with model year 1970 cars. One thing to think about with regards to the date you put on the sticker is the date code on your cowl tag. For the most part, the sticker date would pretty much indicate the same month and year as the cowl tag date. However, there are occasions when it could be different. For instance, when I had my 1970 GTO, the date on the cowl tag was 10E, or the fifth week of October 1969. That's real late in the month which might indicate the date on the sticker would be into the next month. And that was the case with my GTO; the sticker was dated 11/69.

From what I have observed, the date on the cowl tag would be the first date in sequence, followed by the sticker date and concluding with the p-o-p date. With your cowl date of 01C, or the third week in January 1970, it would be safe to use the date on your sticker of January 1970. I'm not exactly sure if the single digit months are written as a single or double digit (i.e., 1/70 or 01/70). Hopefully someone else can answer that question!

The original door tags in this thread indicate there may have been a difference between plants as to whether there was a zero used in front of the single digit months::
