67 Olds442X2, Your spare looks exactly like mine. My spare was my 1966 442, with 54,000 original miles on the clock.. I never look for a DOT stamp or a tire date.. Now I'll have to take a look at it..

I heard if it has a DOT stamp it's not original for a 60's era car. I think sometime during the 70's or so they started putting DOT on tires.

If you originality freaks (I'm including myself) really want to have fun, examine your original spare for paint marks on the tire and a "BB" weld on the wheel. These were used by the factory to match up the tire's low spot with the wheel's high spot in order to minimize the total amount of run-out and reduce vibration.
The inside sidewall of my original spare has has a small white paint dot and a large, reddish orange radially painted splotch lined up with the BB weld on the wheel.
I realize that by posting this information I just caused 100 ****-rententive Olds owners to grab some paint and a welder to make their car more "original."

My 71 W-30 still has its original (barely been on the ground) Tiger Paw spare. Over the years I've picked them up one at a time at swap meets, etc. I just need one more really good one and I'll have an almost new set for the car. I must say though, out of the three (Goodyear, Firestone and Uniroyal), the Uniroyal is the "spaghetti" tire of the bunch - meaning more flimsy than the other two.

Racing with Uniroyals one night at 105 MPH, watched the front tire sidewall blow out from the Dairyqueen line-up with my gal the next. I think I know why they are not in business anymore.

Although not the original spare this is off of the first replacement tire set and my original ones were Wide Ovals w/ white stripe. Code dated late 1973 so these were probably put on in '74, I'll have to check my receipts to be sure.

Take out, never used spare from a 65 Cyclone. Now in my red car. BFG
Silvertown, not used in Oldsmobiles, but was free and is dated to when my car
was built.

Chalk mark on my original spare
Here's a picture of the white chalk mark that is on my 66 442 original spare tire.
I almost rubbed it off when I put armor on it.
