Unlikely.

Let's see a pic of yours. I suppose it's remotely possible if you have an Oshawa built car it might have something different however I've never seen a stock valve cover with a breather in the end

In 68 there was only one configuration for 442 big block valve covers. All 68's 442 got notched valve covers (though not shown in this picture). The vents were located in the center of the valve covers.

Just getting an A/C dash recovered at Just Dashes will set you back $1k.

"VIN Check"

"Well everyone... I guess newbie is very thankful to you all. After hearing all the info, I found a site to do a vin check and it actually came back with history of the car. The car is listed as salvage records and cause of loss was collision on 11/27/85. On to continuing my search. Greatly appreciate everyone's help."

I don't mean to hijack the thread - just curious: How/where did you check the VIN and receive back a history? I've been digging around for just this type of info and come up blank at every turn - "VIN Incorrect" or "No Records Found" or "VIN too old..." etc.

I'm restoring a '68 "numbers matching" unit, and block and trans do indeed have "matching numbers"... but there are some things that don't seem quite right about my project .

TIA
Rich
