Need some help

Been enjoying my new to me 66 442! Heres where I can use some help
I spent all last weekend changing fluids. hoses, adjusting carbs and timing(with some help) but the car still has a strong exhaust smell....
It is running great and I understand its not a modern car with cats but is there something I'm forgetting??
I want to take the family down the shore next weekend but don't want them to pass out
Thanks for any advice

Does it have a aftermarket cam? Some of the more aggressive cams, will do that, especially at a ideal.

What distributor is in it? Whats your timing/ dwell if points? How did you set your carb, is the smell only at idle or is it all the time?

Well, maybe you haven't spent enough time with your nose up your tailpipe but there's a lot of different exhaust smells. Rich smells different than lean. Hopefully the shop can help you out.
