I need to find a 1970 Oldsmobile delivered to California with all of the original California emissions equipment. It may need to be a 442 too. Let me know if you have one. It needs to have the three hose smog canister.

Are you looking for reference information or parts? I have a 70 Cutlass S with that canister and lots of pictures, but I intend to re-use it in my car.

 

Why are you needing smog stuff when it's smog exempt or are you just trying to put it back to stock?

 

I a restoring the car. I have the original diagram but need some information on the fittings. I have the canister. Do you have all of the original fittings tee connectors and elbows.

 

Lee, over the years I've wound up with several 1967 and one 1966 engines with the complete California emissions setups. Then I have a set of #5 heads with fittings screwed into the heads, but not the long manifold/tube look of the earlier ones. I don't know what was used in 1970, but if any of this earlier stuff might work let me know and I'll get you some pictures to compare it to what your diagrams show. John

 

What I am looking for is the rubber tee hose that goes from the pvc valve 1970 smog only to the canister hose. So the pvc fits into it and then there is line to the canister. part # 405130 Tee

 

My car originally was a 2-barrel 350, so I have different plumbing than what you've described. I have the metal tee, part #406511. Sorry I can't help you here.

The line from the canister goes to the air cleaner, one to the carb with a tee on 4 speed and W-30,and one to the vent line back to the gas tank. I have done more then one of these before and a customer of mine has a California sold new W-30. The hole at the end of the air cleaner was used, with a plastic elbow and clip and a hose to the canister. That's what the hole in the air cleaner end is for, E vap system. Hope this helps
