Need help decoding vin # st71 34487lan263614

That's not your vin. It's the fisher body cowl tag that's under the hood. It shows you have a '71 442 holiday coupe built in Lansing. The "263614" is the fisher body #. It has nothing to do with the cars actual vin, which is on the left front corner of the dash. There is more info on your cowl tag, build date,interior code,paint code etc. As far as the actual vin decoding there's not much info on it other than it should start with 34487 showing it's a real 442, the year code "1" for '71, the plant code, yours will be "m" for lansing mi. The last 6 numbers are your cars actual production sequence. GM changed the vins starting in '72 finally adding an engine code.
