New to Olds and I am trying to plan out the long term vision for my project. I have always loved blue with white/off-white interior. Based on what I have seen in the catalogs I have found so far, I am not sure if white is available for a 69.

Was white an option, and is it available complete anywhere?

Does anyone know if I could use a 68 interior?

Can any of the interior pieces be painted and it actually work? (I have seen some recolors that just seem to flake off)

Have any of you went to white and can offer your experiences?

The '69 white interior was called "antique parchment". Fusick offers a '69 interior in off-white.

It could be possible to use a '68 interior (Olds called it "parchment", I believe it is offered by Fusick as the color "pearl") but the pattern of the '68 interior is slightly different than the '69 version, and I don't know if the bucket seat covers come with the opening for the seat back release or not. If the do come with the opening, then the '68 bucket seat covers wouldn't be useable for a '69.

I would check with Fusick (www.fusick.com for their on-line catalog) to see exactly what they have. For many of us on this site, Fusick is the best place to go for many of your Olds parts. They know Oldsmobiles well and were my go-to choice in restoring both my '68 and '69 4-4-2s.

I've used vinyl paint on hard pieces, like bucket seat backs, with great success. I've never tried it on vinyl material.

There is vinyl dye available, but I believe it works best going from a bright color to a dark color.
