I found some paperwork on my 71 W30
I looked behind the passenger seat plastic and found a sheet of paper that says w30 on it. What a lucky break. The guy I bought the car from looked everywhere except there. I was pretty sure the car was a w30 but paperwork always helps. If anyone knows what some of this means plese let me know. Thanks for any help.

Congrats. It's a broadcast card (as opposed to a build sheet).
Seq 237 = ???
Mo 01 = Jan
Day 27 =Jan 27, 1971 build date
Style 34487 = 442 Holiday Coupe
Plt Opt A02 = ??? - something to do with the body data plate?
Body Number 274901 = should be the same as the body number on the data plate
Trim Code 930 = Black vinyl buckets
Paint Lwr 62 = Bittersweet
Paint Top Upr B = Black vinyl top
PP 2 = ?????
Most of this should also be on your body data plate

A02= Tinted Glass
PP 2 Might actually be ACT 2 or the accent paint for the striping and hood.

i noticed the numbers matched the cowl tag and not the vin
Thanks for the help guys,
It is a 4 speed non console car. The frame number matches the VIN and the block also matches but the H heads are long gone. The aluminum intake and air cleaner suff is still there, but the M22 is gone.
We've started the restoration and things are looking good.
Thanks,
Dave

Try to post some pics of your progress; you have some great machinery to work on! ![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I am siding with Joe, that this particular "build sheet" was for Fisher's use before the body even mated with the chassis.
That explains my old curiosity of why only options that would affect the body are listed on that sheet (ie., rear speaker option listed but no radio...)

"What this means" is GUARD THAT BROADCAST CARD WITH YOUR LIFE!....since we have no independent sources to verify these cars (like Pontiac has with the PHS service, Buicks have the Sloan Museum and Wayne Roberts, ...) this is the best proof you have that the car is "real".
Good find. Sounds like a very cool optioned car.

I had a 70 Chevelle SS454 that I found the build sheet behind the front seat that gave me the idea to look there. I took a picture of it.

It will make more sense if we keep in mind that Fisher Body (though GM owned) was a separate operation for body assemblies. (Evolution from the from the old separate coach building days). So the broadcast card and the body tags have information that only pertains to the body, not the chassis, like the "build sheet" does.
And "broadcast" numbers differ from RPO option numbers, and they again are relative to the body assembly.
Yes, that broadcast card is gold for documentation of that W-30!!
