Post hood stripes

I needing some info on painting the hood stripes (similar to the w-30) on the hood of a standard 442 hood. My hood is not an oai hood. I would like to get the sizes if anyone can help. thanks!!

Like this? Is this the hood you are referring to? If so - I just masked it out how I thought it would look best following the counters of the hood - I left about 1/4 from edge of "bumps" then a 1/4 black - 1/4 red - then full stripe. I have seen SO many variations on this - most leave a 1/8 car color stripe in middle - I much prefer the 1/4 - shows up the stripes better IMO.

yep thats what i'm looking for. my 442 hood has the vents on the back of the hood instead of on the sides like a 71. I thought the 1/4" would look good too. thanks for the reply. I'm new to this forum so it works great....

It would help know what year you are referring to. The stripe dimensions are in the Product Information Manuals (aka Assembly Manuals). They are available free of charge on Wild About Cars.

The stripes look good, trucker442. I like those stripes on the '69 or '70 hood with the louvres in the rear.

Those stripes look awesome Trucker! I am looking to do the same on my 69 Cutlass S...can I inquire how much it cost to have them done? Assuming they painted straight over the existing paint?

ps: I will be doing white stripes as well having a sable brown/white interior

Thanks,
Bill
