A good day today

The 442 got some needed attention in the form of a new radiator and water pump.
I had replaced the pump a few months ago with a unit from NAPA for a 71 (those were the pulleys on the engine) and the impeller was just small. It had also started leaking again, not too sure why.
So I decided to get the correct pulleys and water pump for the car. I got the pulleys from John up north (thanks again John) and cleaned them up and painted them black. The water pump was a new piece from O'Reilly's Auto parts (where I work) under the Master Pro brand. I should have taken a picture of the two impellers side be side. WOW the new 70 unit was just gargantuan in comparison to the re-maned 71 unit. The new one also has the larger inlet for the lower radiator hose so I kinda had to make that work.
My old Radiator was just falling apart. There are remnants if fins all over the floor of my garage and the thing is half green. Suffice to say I'm a happy camper and so is the Olds.

I noticed the same thing - those remans are not worth anything:

Glad all went well and that it was a good day. I love it when a plan comes together!

Who'd you get your new rad from? I noticed mine is about due for replacement. Debating on whether to go 4 or 3 row. Its a 3 now, but i'm upping the cooling system overall to heavy duty.

It's a Ready-Rad 4 row stock replacement #433348. Fit like a glove. I got it through work and it sells for 259.99.
