Finally got some pics of my 75 442

Well, for about 2 months I have been aiming to get some pics. The car being at a family members I finally got around to it. Its got 108000 orginal miles 2nd owner car. Only real bad part of car is under vinyl top some rust. The rest of the car is very sound. The car was bought in 1980 by my mom. Then in 1985 she got a brand new Chevy caprice classic. My dad drove the car some after that but not much. In about 93 it was parked in the yard until 97 when my dad spent abunch of money having a bumper to bumper tune up, new master cylinder , brakes, gas lines , etc. Then my dad and mom got a divorce (around 2000)and he quite spending money on it knowing my mom would end up with it in the end. My mom wound up with the car but never did anything with it, she never even got it from my dads. So after my sibling did not want it was given to me . Well then after the divorce the car has been under a car port. Cranked a few times a year. Well since its mine I'm going to start working on it. About 2 months ago I attempted to start it but pump has gone (will run if you pour gas in carb). It might be the original pump for all i know. Hopefully this weekend I can get the new fuel pump on. Its going to be my project to get back on the road. Go over everything mechanical, the new vinyl top. Paint job might have to wait though due to economy. My camera is not the best but heres the pics.

Nice car, rare for sure at this point. I would definitely check all the brakes and brake lines and change the fluids before trying to drive it. Also, how old is the gas in the tank? If it has been in there for a while, you should drain it and put fresh gas in. Don't want rust, condensation and stale gas causing you even more issues.

yeah i will check the brakes. About 2 years the car was drove around the block. The brakes worked just like it was a brand new car. But for sure will check. Prob change the oil when I get it running. The tires on it are very dry rotted and Im scared to pump them up to much. I need to find a set of used to move it around. Something to hold air till i get it road ready, then buy a new set.

I have one just like that. My interior matches the stripes though, and I see yours is black. I bought it new in 1975. I repainted and can't find the stripes. Any chance you could give me the specs for them when you are ready to do yours. I should have anticipated this in advance, but had too much on my mind I guess and never thought I wouldn't be able to find that year's striping, but it is not available. I want to have mine custom made. Thanks. How's yours coming along?

Cool. Don't see many of these any more. You should check out the 73-77 olds board.
