Stripes for my 1975 442

I had my car repainted and can't find the cranberry striping for it. Does anyone know where they can be bought for that year? Other years seem to be available, but not the 75. If I have to get them painted on I will, but I don't know the dimensions. Any ideas?? Thanks

Thanks, but I've tried both of those places and so many others, but no luck. Every place has all the years but the 73, 74 and 75's. They have the Hurst Olds in my year though. Can't figure it out. Why are mine so hard to find?

here's another: http://www.stencilsandstripes.com/pr_olds.asp

Also, many of these places can do custom work, and maybe they'll want to add '75 if there is a large enough market.

Nobody has ever reproduced the vinyl stripes for any '73-'75 442 that I heard of. The stripe guys are not going to produce a costly decal kit without demand so your choices are to paint them on or have them custom made which can be expensive too.

Most people paint them on during restoration but getting them to look correct is your task. The '73 442 guys have documented measurements to do this and heard another guy is trying to get a decal kit made for the '74.

IMO, '74 & '75 442s are the rarest ones to survive so finding a '75 which still has original stripes to copy from is the first task and probably another reason stripe companys haven't done them.
Hopefully you can contact an owner of such car otherwise you will have to copy solely from photos. I know of a very low mileage, original '75 442 out there but don't know the owner.

Something else that may help you is a '75 Cutlass Assembly manual. It should show these stripes and placement position.

Good luck, I do love the '74 & '75 442s because so few are left in good condition.

Thanks for the reply but the stencilsandstripes doesn't carry them either. I am the original owner of the vehicle and the car was stolen years ago and I was lucky enough to find a replacement hood they stole off of it when it was recovered, but when I repainted the whole car I didn't anticipate not being able to find the striping.

Cool. Don't see many of these any more. You should check out the 73-77 olds board.

Post some pics of your car. Good luck with the stripes.

Good luck finding those dimensions, you will need to find an original car for that,as we know its all about supply and demand. If it was 68-72 the market is flooded with aftermarket parts.
