dash panel

I have a 1968 442 I just purchased. Apparently the windshield had leaked and I didn't find it till I took the moldings off the windshield. The dash has been corroded and will need to have at least the lower portion cut out and replaced. I know you guys can tell me what year dashs fit my car for a donor. Thanks, Brian

It depends on how far the rust goes into the car. If the rust is primarily in the lower pinchweld where the windshield is bonded, you can get a reproduction part that will work. If rust goes further onto the metal upper dash area inside the car, only a 68-69 Cutlass panel will work. Others have modified a Chevelle panel, but that does take some work and splicing.

Thanks for the information. Not what I wanted to hear. It is into the painted dash area. Didn't see it till I removed the chrome to reseal the front window. I don't blame the seller I don't think he knew

Rust in this area is sadly all too common on the A-body cars.I'd a rare one that DOESN'T have pinchweld rust.

Joe - Any chance you know the Part Number of the 69 Top Dash Repair panel, I have a 70 and have had no luck finding the top of the dash. Many thanks.
