Cowl Tag Help

Hey yall. I'm trying to find out some info about my car it came with no original paperwork. I took her to a shop by my place, he had a oldsmobile book to decode all the numbers. We ran into problems his book didn't have the paint numbers on the tag. If one of you guys can help decode my tag that would be huge help.

Nicely done Scot. You going to add that cowl tag to the special order thread? I might even get a chance to see this car on Saturday. If I do, I'll take some pics for ya.

thanks for the decode i guess that would be why we couldn't figure it out currently the car is an orange ferrari color. When i get the repaint eventually ill probably bring it back not to sure how a white vinyl top would look on her would be ... different.

It will prolly look a lot like this. Note: Rallye red is notorious for looking like flame orange in some light conditions. This is one of the cars that comes to the Rocket Roundup pretty regularly and I believe it is Rallye Red. As you can see this car also has the white themed interior.

Ah because on the far left side of the one picture you can see the W30 badge.

Is that Ken's car in front and to the side?

Sorry to be confusing... In this thread, the OP and Allan R question if it is a W30 or not.
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...-my-442-a.html

Just stating that based on the build plant of "E" on the cowl tag, it can not be W30. W30's were built in Lansing.

True enough! And yes, Scot is right. The pics I posted I took 3 years ago. This year when I go to the show I'll be taking some detailed pics of stuff like cowl tags and VIN as long as the owners don't mind. Maybe I'll find some more documentation for Scot. Some of the people at these shows actually have the delivery or window stickers that came with the car.

Not the best news out there. O well at least its still got the 4-speed anyone have the production numbers on the manual. I'm stll gonna take it to the guy today and he can give me a good breakdown on the car and what it should need. I'm not to mechanically inclined but I'm learning I'm more of a body guy.

Rallye Red is very orange. It's the same color as Chevrolet Hugger Orange and Pontiac Carousel Red. Here's my '70 SX with mostly original paint (sorry about the giant size):

Thanks for posting the data plate
I have a Linden N.J. Built car also

It seems that linden printed the DuPont "WA" number on the data plates as opposed to the
" -- " that other plants used.
