I am doing a 4spd conversion and would like some help on a couple of things. My car is a 65 442. Inside color is "light blue" and the carpet is Dark blue. would the plastic console base be light blue interior color or the color of the carpet? Also, will any GM A body steering column work in the 442. There is one out of a 65 GTO on ebay but didn't want to bid until I knew for sure if it would fit. I suspect it will but wanted to check. thanks for any input.

The Console color would normally be the color of the carpet.The column on olds vs pontiac or buick, are all different in looks, but I don't know about the fit. Has anyone else helped you? It looks like no one has chimed in here, which surprises me.

Todd....nope, you're the only one that has helped me and I do appreciate it. I'll look to find vinyl paint to match the dark blue carpet. I was not aware that there was a difference in the olds vs pontiac/buick. I have not purchased the steering column yet so thanks for letting me know. I sent the console parts to Pauls Chroming to have restored..expensive but very good...I have had them do pot metal chroming for me in the past. Again, thanks for the help
