Am radio conversion

Attached are some pics of my stock AM radio that I sent out and had modified with new 30 watt Am/FM internals as well as a harness connection for a satellite or MP3 connection (picture does not do the radio face plate justice, it's mint). I have my stock AM/FM that came out of my car that I am going to put away. I plan on running the MP3 jack into my console box to store my IPOD. You can switch between AM/FM with one of the preset buttons. As soon as you plug into the sat/MP3 harness it automatically switches over. In FM mode you will have to surf the dial in order to find your station. I think you can also have the lens changed to an AM/FM if you want, but I wanted to keep the stock look. I changed out my stock front dash speaker to a dual stereo speaker that fit into it's stock location. I am going to run front kick speakers in aftermarket panels as well as some rear boxes that will be removable with banana jacks when needed. My amp will be mounted under the front passenger seat to keep the glove box clean.

Very clever. I've been wanting to get something like that done to the factory 8-track deck in my '76. What company did the mod for you?

The gentleman that did the revisions does this work on the side. I was very impressed with his work and the timely fashion that his work is turned around. You can contact him at jc68gto4@verizon.net .
