Air conditioner

I have a 70 442, my air conditioner all the sudden I get very little air coming out of the vents most of the air is coming out of the floor. when I switch to defroster it is the same way no air out of defrost vents, switch to heat and air comes out there. switch to vent setting and no air in that cycle. Checked hoses under dash and they are all connected and look good and have good vacume any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There is a vacuum diaphragm that controls that. It is somewhere under the dash. It is possible the vacuum hose going to it has gotten old and cracked. I hope the diaphragm has not gone bad because nobody makes a replacement. My 72 convertible is the same way and it is a bad diaphragm.

Are you sure that the vacuum to the A/C is connected, and that the vacuum reservoir is intact and not leaking?

Make sure there are two vacuum hoses connected to the AC vacuum reservoir (round ball near center of firewall. One hose connects to the intake manifold and the second one goes through the firewall to the vacuum diaphragm.

Thanks for everyone I found the problem with your help, I had a hose that had a small slit at the fitting, I am going to replace all vacuum hoses under the hood.
