'70 442 Dome Light Fixture

Has anyone bought a new dome light fixture from opgi P.N. PZ200023?
I bought one a year ago and the complete base was chrome plated (on plastic). Well this won't work because the chrome plating conducts electricty and well the light is on all the time and the outside of the fixture is + 12V. (With a volt meter).

If you look at the opgi web (today) same P.N. as above you will see the area for the (2) contacts and bulb is white plastic....just like the O.E.M. . They have about 200 on backorder.

Just curious...... and if you have one that has a completely chromed base don't use it......or as I was suggested just file it off where needed ..look at the base and you will see that would be a trick.

'70 Olds Dome Light

Hi,
Go on the opgi web site select car '70 Olds 442. Under Interior Trim you will find it (manual search 1st page bottom lft corner) Your right searching the number = no results.
Search for DLK006. This is the whole kit.
This gives you the base, lense, new leads and maybe the bulb they could not tell me if the bulb was included. It's in the picture but not the "kit" description. They are back ordered also.
Don't get me wrong they look nice, if the base was plated in only the correct areas.....I never new plastic "chrome" could conduct juice !
