Guys I am doing a ground up restoration of a 69 442 convertible. The hood tongue was damaged so purchased a nice one off a 69 cutlass. Two questions : will the cutlass part fit on the 442 convertible hood. Second are the hole castings on the inside of the tongue a drilling guide for mounting the 442 emblem. Thanks
My 69 Cutlass S Hood Tongue Emblems rear hole castings did not line them up right - they were to low and generally off +-
I filled & drilled to what I found pictures on the internet, the top of the emblems should be very close to the top of the tongue +-
Someone here my have the exact placement - I couldn't find those documents so I just copied what I saw on Show Cars for sale ...
Thanks for the input. Guessing if the casting holes don't line up, the casting numbers don't either. doing everything I can to make this restoration as correct as possible. been at it for over 6 years and finally ready for paint. Looks like I am on the hunt for a 442 tongue as opposed to the cutlass one I just bought.
