"67" 442 Quadrajet
If I were to get a replacement carb for 1967 442, Should I just Chevy style inlet? To the side and not straight on. The issue is a stripped out filter housing thread.
All searches of JET models call for a Buick/Olds version with straight inlet.

X2 yep! Each one has a different size inlet for the fuel line from the pump. I guess depending which Q-jet your going to mend...Have not seen any for the earlier Rochester 4-jets...324, 371-394's etc..

Ok great. Thanks for the confirmation. I have extensive experience with big and small aftermarket Chevy builds but not much with Olds, which really is my favorite though. Ive had a few over the years but couldn't seem to hold on to them cause of the expensive parts! Had a 68 455 Delta Custom and a 67 Turnpike Cruiser. There was too much deep engine work and I couldn't keep up.
This 442 is in great shape cosmetically but has a lot of the same problems, crappy idle , likely due to mangled exhaust seats and worn out Q-Jet. The cylinder pressures in this 10.5-1 400cu in.
motor are all around 175psi.
Does that seem halfway decent to you guys?

Those are not the same as an "heli coil" repair. That is a one time "repair" that possibly will ruin your Q-Jet.
