I am re-starting the restoration of my dad's '67 442, that he did not get finished before his passing. Does anyone have a solution for the windshield lower channel rust issue? My brother says it is too far gone to patch it and needs a new lower channel welded in place. I have had trouble finding one. Also, what does the term "two door post" refer correlate to....is that a two door sedan or a coupe? Thx!

Your only option is to find a donor car with a good piece and weld it in place of the rusted one (a major undertaking). A two door sedan/post is a body style that has a frame around the door window as opposed to a hardtop body that has no window frame. A coupe is the same as a two door post.
I had pinholes in my 65 front window, wasn’t bad enough to consider replacing the channel. I used por15 epoxy putty then painted the entire window frame with por15 paint. No leaks no issues and no more rust. The rear window was a different story
i did replace the lower channel. It was a challenge but everything came out good.
Hope it all goes well.
"Coupe," in Oldsmobile lingo, just means that it has two doors. A "Holiday Coupe" does not have a post. A "Sports Coupe" or "Club Coupe," which are both terms that have been used by Oldsmobile, means a two-door with a center post. But I don't think these coupes actually had a center post. What they have is a frame around the front and rear side windows whereas the Holiday Coupes do not.
This station wagon has a true center post or pillar.

Maverick, I got this from Tamraz a few years ago for my 67. The fit to the wiper grill is perfect. You do have to tweak it at the A pillar covers a bit. What I did like about it and nobody else had one like it was that it had the rivets for the molding clips built into it.
