1974 SSll / SSlll 15 inch wheels

Did the 1974 SSll and SSlll 15 inch wheels have bolt on center caps or snap on? (Did the centers look like the earlier SSlls) Or were the 1969 HO wheels the only 15 x 7s with bolt on caps?

There was a run of bolt on 15x7s in 74 before they went snap on.

1974 SSIl and. SSlll 15 inch wheels

I hate to go to 15 inch wheels on my 71 W 30, but I am tired of the F 70 14 size 225 70 14s from tire manufacturers. The only option I have is to pay through the nose to get G 70 14s or go to 15 inch wheels. The 235 70 14s that I used to run were perfect. I am tired of the undersized look of the 225s that tire manufacturers and dealers "claim" are a replacement for G 70s.

There are some other options that fit.

I believe the 15x7 bolt-on centers in '74 were on Salons only. I had a '74 Salon and it had 15x7 bolt-on centers. '75 was the first year for snap on centers for the Super Stock wheels.

Per the 1974 Salesman's SPECS booklet, RPO N71 15" SSII and N72 15" SSIII were available on ANY A-body car that year except the wagons.

I never realized that Joe, the only 15' SSII and SSIII wheels I ever saw at the dealership were on the '73 4 door Salons and the 74 Salons. I do know they are hard to come by in my part of the world. Would love to have a set with the bolt-on centers for my '68 Cutlass with the 14x6 SSII wheels but they're a little out of my price range.

I have a pair and/or all 4 of the bolt in center 15x7’s I’ll be selling. $250
each, cheaper than the going rate.
