1972 W-29 steel hood factory markings

I've been meaning to ask this question for some 17 years (since the days of the Olds Mailing List), but keep forgetting . The steel hood on my '72 has what looks like original factory markings on the underside of the hood. As shown in the picture under where the original pad was is "442" in yellow. Next to that in white is what looks like "U 1 M 4". I am not sure what the "U1M4" refers to, but they are similar to a portion of the car's VIN: "U2M14" (u-code engine, 1972, Lansing, etc....).

Does anyone else's '72 W-29 steel hood have either or both of these?

Any chance that could be 61M4? I don't know what that would mean, though.
