1968 radiator question
1968 radiator question
Does anyone know the proper placement of where the opening/radiator cap is on the '68 442? It should be at the end, right?
I'd like to get a 4-row radiator, so does anyone else know of least expensive place with correct style 4-row replacement radiators? I've found here thus far: http://www.yourautocoolingsource.com...product/CU0165

I don't have a 442, but my 68 cutlass has the radiator cap on the passenger side, in the top corner of the radiator. I'm undergoing a 455 swap and purchased a 4-core radiator from complete radiators (on ebay) for $199 + 20 for shipping. It measures the same dimensions as my original radiator except for thickness (it is thicker obviously). The only difference I see is that the radiator cap is positioned differently than stock. (it is still in the corner but positioned horizontal rather than angled). Fit doesn't appear to be an issue.
Thanks Dan. I think I'm going with the one I provided in the link for now. I'm spending a ton of money on an engine rebuild, and this car needs a lot, so I can use the money I'm saving on some other things that are needed.
Tom,
Here's a radiator on Ebay. The current bid is really not that bad. And it seems to be the same as mine.

I'll keep the original tank and perhaps eventually get it recored. I guess in the end, as long as it works ok, I'm fine with it. I'm not doing a ground up resto on it this time around. I just want to get eventhing in good working order and looking good so I can drive it. I'll do the ground up when I live in a different city and have the space to do some of the work myself.
