New to the forum, so if there's a link to how to decode VIN's and Body Tag's, please add to this post.
Otherwise, here's what I'm trying to decode on the 1968 442 I recently acquired where I put question marks that I'd like confirmation from what I've found so far:
VIN = 344878M156115
BODY TAG:
10C
ST 68-33687 (Holiday Coupe?) LAN153504 (Built in Lansing, MI?)
TR 940 (Black Interior?) V-2 Paint (Juneau Gray Metallic with Black Vinyl Top?)
It appears someone did a color change to Safron Yellow at some point
if I'm right on the V-2 code?

Welcome and congrats on the car.
10C = built the third week (C) of Oct (10), 1967
ST 68 = Style 1968 model year
3 = Oldsmobile Division
36 = Cutlass model line (also used by Fisher Body on 1968-69 442s and fully documented in factory literature)
87 = Holiday Coupe (2dr HT)
LAN = Lansing Assembly Plant
153504 BODY = Fisher Body sequential number
TR940 = Black vinyl bucket seat interior
V-2 PAINT = Juneau Gray (V) with Black Vinyl Top (2)
And as with all 68 442s today, someone incorrectly added the W36 stripes in the wrong place...
