1968 442 underhood shot

I was wondering if some of you wouldn't mind sharing with me some underhood shots of your '68 442. I'll be reinstalling everything, and would like to see how things were set up originally, so I'm looking for either original, well-maintained machines or correctly restored vehicles.

Thanks for the help!

If easier, you can send them to my e-mail: therockandroll66@yahoo.com

I've only got one shot under my hood and it's not that good. Submitted just in case it has something you might like to see. Power steering, power assist drum brakes, no air, no cruise, no power door locks or windows, no remote trunk opener, auto on column.

Randy,
Maybe Joe P. can direct people to your Avatar pic when they start asking about the location of the bumblebee stripe (and fender 442 emblem for a stripe car) on a 68?

Sounds good to me! That picture was taken on my 18th birthday while I was waxing the car, about a month after my dad bought the car in February 1969 for $925 and a '67 Cougar. Can you imagine, as a parent, buying a car like that when you have two teenage boys with driver's licenses? I can't, but somehow my dad could! The car has been in our family ever since. After I completed restoration of the 442 in 2007, dad gave the car to me. I also have a '69 in progress (same color combination; the white is actually a different white than offered in '68) but the '68 has many more memories! The other 2 cars were simply good purchases at the right times.

Thanks for the pics. I now realize I need the tube from the air cleaner to the valve cover, and I don't think it's reproduced. Does anyone have one or any ideas?

Thanks Harry. Those are great.

Now, on the air cleaner--the black hose running down from the cleaner to the valve cover--is this different on an A/C car than a car without A/C?

Also, is this the part they sell at Fusick or is that one one for the OAI cars? Does anyone reproduce it?

Actually That vacuum line runs from the air cleaner to the back of the inatke manifold. Are we talking about the same thing?

No, look at your middle picture. Look at the valve cover. The air breather tube running up from the cover to the side of the air cleaner.

OK, that's what I thought. I need to attempt to get mine back. Not sure how likely that is. And the tough thing is, I'm pretty sure it's a '68 only part.

I think my friend's sons located mine, so hopefully I'm good to go.
