Horn button needed '55 olds

Looking for a horn button for '55 Olds for a STANDARD wheel - the ones for the deluxe wheels pop up regularly on evil bay - see the picture for what I'm looking for. Fit's the standard steering wheel from the Plain 88's. I have one for a '56 (interchangeable but different design) - I'll buy outright or trade for th '56 if you happen to need one.

Thanks all.

Gordon, that is the only one of those I've ever seen. Every 55 I ever remember had the deluxe steering wheel.

Neat piece and I daresay may be hard to find. Good luck.

Yeah - it is pretty cool - my "88" Holiday Sedan is the most "base" I've ever seen - manual steering, brakes, backup lite delete, radio delete, NEVER had windshield washers, rubber rug, poverty caps, no "88" emblem on the trunk lid. Only options seems to be auto and heat. Something about the lack of accessories makes it cooler....to me anyway

Inded I like them fully loaded or strip to the bones myself. Let me ask you, is the 56 one completly different or is it a plastic insert like the deluxe one? Post a pic of the 56 one you have.

BTW, I think the pn for the horn buttom you are looking for is 566425
(that's if the pn for the 56 one you have is 568133). The parts book doesn't show a standard wheel so I'm going off of the list name under section 2.820 in my chassis parts book, that lists the part as cap & emblem (standard wheel). I'll keep an eye out for you but standard parts are hard to find, beleive me I collect delete plates for 56

https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...parts-car.html

The pics of the interior of the car in the link shows the '56 horn button for standard wheel - (mine's buried in a pile of stuff I stuffed inside one of my cars) - the '55 is similar but with the 1955 North America motif in lieu of the '56 "galaxy stars"...

If I don't find a '55 I can use the '56 for now and swap it out down the road...but you know how things like that can bug you even though 98% of the people who see the car won't know it's incorrect...you do and it gnaws at you!

I kwow the diference of the continent and the stars what I was asking you was if they were like the deluxe ones where the insert comes off. But I saw that it looks like a solid one piece deal. BTW, I know what you mean about it being correct, I'll look around for you as well
