Installing 4 core Radiator

I am installing a 4 core radiator in my 72 cutlass convertible with sbo engine. Where do I position the lower saddle brackets on the core support for the bigger radiator? (had a very leaky 3 core prior)

Thanks!

Dave

Are you installing new radiator brackets? When I temporarily installed a 4 row radiator I merely flattened the rearward portion of the lower saddles and the radiator was spaced correctly. The forward part of the saddle positions the radiator, so if you replace the saddles just make sure the forward part of the new ones are in the same location and the radiator should be in the proper location.

I ended up having a high efficiency 4 row core installed on the 3 row end tanks so it fit into the saddles with no modifications. The local radiator shop did this for me.

thanks Fun71, this is the info I needed! Already have the radiator and new saddles... just wanted to make sure they went in in the proper location.

I just remembered that the shroud was tight against the radiator, so maybe I didn't have the best radiator position. Perhaps you could mock up the mounts, radiator, and shroud to ensure the mounts are in the correct spot prior to attaching them.
