best carburetor for a 72 cutlass 350

I have a rochester 4bb Q jet carburetor stock.Should i get a new carburetor like a holly or edelbrock or should i just rebuilt the one i have? If i get a new one which are best for performance..My car has everything stock. starting to get performance parts and decided on the carb first.

Rebuild the Q jet. The Edlebrock requires an adaptor to make it work on your stock manifold.

You could upgrade to HEI ignition and duel exhaust if you haven't already.

OPGI has smi carbs I got a smi carb for my lemans and it seems ok looks very nice hand he was good to call for some tune tips to get it right If all stock you could go with a opgi or call smi and give him the info on what you have he sets them up per car and needs ????

If you decide to keep the Q-jet contact 70Wcars (a member on our site). His name is Danny and he rebuilds Q-jets from time to time. His price is great and he does an excellent job. He rebuild my Q-jet and it runs strong!

Have your carb rebuilt to the performance upgrades that you plan on doing, cam specs etc.

Unless you are "building" a race car, there is no "best" carb. Cheaper and easier to rebuild the one you have.
