Strange paint wear chipping

This is original paint on a 25k mile car. What would cause this much wear in front of the rear wheels. Has me

scratching my head.

If you let that go untreated it will eventually rust through.

Yeah I think its a combination of sand and gravel that they use on the roads in the winter time is what did it. I had just never seen so much blast on a quarter flare to this degree with the owner stating its a 25k original mile car. I havent seen this on a 225k car... doesn't add up obviously.

My Grandparents lived at the end of a dirt road that was 12 miles from pavement. Their 78 Dodge pickup looked worse than that, with 5,000 miles on it. I will add Hilda, NEVER drove over 20 mph on that road . She had eggs and canned goods to deliver to market . Now Andy was a regular speed demon. He would go 30 . But only if Hilda wasnt present.

Im not saying anyone or anything isnt true or not true, just saying personally Im not buying 25k orig miles because I dont believe the severity of it equals that number. I dont recall them using easter egg dye as paint in those days that would come off so easily as Ive stripped many and fought against red oxide. Maybe Andy and Hilda exceeded that speed with a head wind.

Look at the wear on your brake pedal. A 25K mile car should look almost new. 125k will be rounded off and worn down significantly more on the right side
