Evap connections
Hi All,
I'm new to posting on the forum- I've been following over the years it's been very helpful w/ my 71/72 Cutlass Conv resto, thank you! Have a weird issue with the Evap cannister/ fuel pump. Had fuel leaking from the EVAP Cannister (it was soaked with gas), replaced it and, of course, still had the issue. I disconnected the fuel pump emission line going to the EVAP, ran the motor, and gas is pumping OUT of it!. Replaced the fuel pump and still have same problem. Any Ideas? Tnx!

Welcome. Here's your very own thread. Asking a question about a 71 on a thread about 1968 cars that's been dead for 15 years isn't the best way to get an answer.
To your specific question, there should NOT be a direct connection from the fuel pump to the evap canister. The recirc line from the pump is pumping fuel under pressure back to the tank. If you connect that to the evap canister, it's no wonder you're leaking fuel. The evap canister has a line from the vent on the tank and a purge line to a ported vacuum connection on the carb.
