Fuel Pump selection

I did a search, but nothing really came up to help.
I need a new fuel pump for my '71 Cutlass Supreme, 455,.040 over, Lunati cam, Quadrajet carb...
I have a choice between a 120 gph, or 30 gph.
What would the harm be in running the 120 gph over the 30?

I have a return line, however the P.O. capped it off on the old pump. Not sure why, but I'm guessing that the line back to the tank may have leaked at some point.

Thanks.

So two gallons every minute? That's some serious fuel volume. I doubt you need that. At that rate your gas tank would be dry in 10 minutes. Assuming you could use all that fuel to begin with.

One article, you can find a hundred more if you look.
