Saving a supercharged 3800

Hi everyone.

I happen to have a Buick Ultra that is the supercharged V6. The car is toast and the engine is toast, but I thought I'd pull off the supercharger before the rest of the car went to Buick heaven. Couple questions.

Does the supercharger have any computer input? There are a few wires running to it, don't know what they do or where they go. If I pulled it off and left the wires, would the supercharger not work? I'm pretty sure it would but who knows.

Are there any parts not attached to the supercharger that should come off and stay with it?

Has anyone ever repurposed a 3800's supercharger onto something other than a 3800? And how did it go?

Okay thanks everyone.

I have not done it but I’ve seen those Eaton m90’s on a lot of custom projects. They generally only go for a few hundred dollars but I’d say it’s worth saving.

Either save the entire drivetrain 3.8l and 4t6t5e or at least take everything off the top of the motor. Swapping a supercharger onto a NA 3.8l requires everything from the heads up (to include the PCM and wiring harness)

Richard Holdener on YouTube has tested this as well as this motor to see what works. The M90 is adequately sized for that V6 but it won't do much above 4,000rpm feeding a V8.
