Brake Cable Location

What is the correct location for the emergency brake cable. Mine is on top of exhaust, below trans and trans crossmember. In the only drawing I found it appears to be between floor and crossmember and on top of transmission.
Seems it would rattle on top of exhaust pipes.
Thanks

Laying on my back, I am guessing the cable should run across the top of the crossmember and cross under the trans.

Have you checked your Chassis Service Manual?

Yea Eric, thats the only drawing I found. Mine has always been below the crossmember and trans, so I thought I would ask. Just looking at it, crossing over the top of the trans doesn't look correct, but if the CSM is correct, it must be how it is.

To me, that illustration shows the cable passing above the crossmember, but below the transmission, just like you said.

To my eyes at least, the portion of the cable passing under the transmission is slightly greyed-out in the picture, indicating that it's on the other side of the transmission.

Here's a super close-up of my electronic version.

Looks like it passes underneath to me.

Thanks MD, Now I see, (said the blind man). I am more used to prints where it would be a dotted line. Guess I need to look closer.

You're welcome. Having a second set of eyes look something over is always helpful.
