Next Project - 67 442 4-speed

Now that my engine is holding out, it might be time to start the next project.
I have a good car to start with and it's already taken apart. Time to start the clean up and reassembly. Once the body is off I'll start with the frame.
This car will go back together stock because everything is there and I believe the drive train is original.

I'm going to keep it stock. Might build a 455 for it but nothing extreme. Will have the 400 built stock.

Been slow going for sure. Yanked engine and trans, tore engine apart. Was going to remove body but I have no space and I won't leave my other car outside so I guess it'll be a body on resto. Will raise it high enough to get underneath to clean what I can and paint. Will at least change the body mounts. Starting with the front end and work back I guess. The passenger floor needs a patch and the windshield and back window areas are rusty. Rear quarter panels have holes on the bottom which I'll patch. Otherwise pretty solid car.

Still slow going. Took a good look in the trunk area and may need more than I originally thought. I drilled holes to get access to the body mounting nuts so I can soak them before removing the bolts. The right side mount next to the wheel well is rusted through out. Both sides have been patched before so I'll be working on my welding skills which are non existent now. Since my working space is well very limited, I'll try to raise the body as high as I can supporting it on 4x4's using the tall jack stands I got. I'll then lower the frame onto dollies to roll it out. I'm removing the differential first since it belongs to the white car. Don't know if a rotisserie will fit if I get one. I guess having it supported with the 4x4's should work. I've seen worst setups.

Just some more disassembly pictures. Under side is a little rustier than first thought. 5 mount bolts out so far with 1 broken. Body mount bushing aft of axle on right side rusted through. It'll be interesting to see if I can do this body off in the space alloted.

Dan, it looks like a solid project car. Glad to see you got the engine issues worked out on the other one. Take care!
