85 cutlass w/74 350
My 85 cutlass project is coming along nicely. Ill get some pics this week. My engine is almost ready for the machine shop. Its 74 olds 350, stock crank, rods and high comprsn stock pistons. #5 heads, rpm performer intake, headers, 3.73 rearend from a mid 80's regal. Does anyone have suggestions on a cam. The car will be an around town, driven 2-3 times a week. I prefer to get to 60-70 mph in a hurry, wont see the top end power much, limited highway driving, dont care about gas mileage. Could I hit 300hp with this setup? Are other items such as roller rockers, electric h2o pump, windage tray worth the added cost? Thanks for any and all help!!

Upper windage tray is a good choice. Everybody here will tell you it doesn't fit a SB but it does!! I had one in my 350 and I just put one in my 330. It will not fit under the 3711, or stock Toro manis thought.
Roller rockers help a lot to "free" up HP, they don't really add any. One mag did a test on a 400 HP mustang and put roller rockers in it and it gained 31 HP, which is a gain of 7.75%
Eletric WP would also free up some power too, don't know how much. Electric fans will help too.
Cam? I was going to do either a Mondello JM 18-20 or JM 20-22. Check Voodoo's website for cams. I found a lot of cool cams on there and that is probably where I'm going to buy mine when it's time. Call them and they can help you pick the right cam for you

thanks redog for the insite. Ive heard other people mention Voodoo cams, ill check into those. Mondello stuff seems to be pretty costly. Ill have about an extra $200 left in my budget when completed just wondering where it would be best spent. Thanks again.

Buy very very very little from Mondello. A lot of guys on here don't deal with them anymore. I bought the upper windage tray from them becasue Dick Miller racing charges 2x the price for the same thing. Shipping from them used to be insane. I once was charged $13 for a $15 intake gasket, pretty much the same thing you can buy at Advance Auto or Autozone.
Places like Summit can also be your friend, also try Craigslist and eBay for stuff as well. I had a major score on Thanksgiving, I got a BRAND NEW Edelbrock 7111 manifold for $100! Still in the box
