Here's an odd one

That car has raised a lot of eyebrows over on 73-77olds.com .
I can buy it being a 350 car originally delivered in CA, and D/G were optional in the 1974 350 cars, but I'm having a little trouble with the paperwork and provenance. Seems like if it were the George Hurst, it would have been titled to Hurst Performance and no bank lien.

Does seem odd that George Hurst would need a bank loan to purchase a Hurst/Olds. Unfortunately for the car's shape, George Hurst provenance isn't going to bring much lustre to it.

Keep in mind that by 1974, George had been ousted from Hurst Performance. Sunbeam Corp bought Campbell's share of what originally was Hurst Campbell, and by 74 they had driven George from the company.

I guess I'm behind the times. I just noticed this on ebay today and posted it on another site.
It is soooo sad. If it's a "1 of 1", why let it sit ouside for so long and take parts off of it?

What a bunch of chickenhearts, I thought you guys were Olds lovers?
The car isn't that bad, the price is the problem.
Maybe I'm too used to rust but that nothing around these parts for any car that old that's been sitting outside, the vinyl top caused the worse damage, otherwise it really doesn't look that rusty. It's a cool and rare car and really deserves to be restored, may need a donor car and a few bucks but anything's possible.
It looks more like the missing parts were stolen going by what's still on the car.
I would of grabbed the power windows and locks, tilt column, shifter, seats, stereo, all kinds of good evilbayable stuff is still there? The steering column has been disconnected from the dash and is just hanging, probably couldn't get it disconnected from the box.

My favorite part is if you check out the questions on that auction almost every single one of them are:
"What about that 66 in the background. Is that for sale?"
Come on people FOCUS!
One of kind... err... collector... umm... shell.
