Removing Decal on Rear Bumper
#2
When we bought the Silver Bullet from the farmer, he had his annual insurance decal across the front bumper, one for evey year!!!! I used a heat gun (hair dryer should work) directly on the decal and as it loosened, used fingernail/razor blace to life what would come off. Then used WD40 on what was left, and rubber it off. Worked great!

I have found that soap impregnated steel wool pads work well too...the soap acts as a lubricant and prevents the wool from leaving any fine sratches in the chrome. Works well for light rust removal as well.

Agree with Joe - Lacquer Thinner
It's great stuff for all kinds of purposes related to oldses.
I used some two nights ago to get the factory sound deadening stuff and related oily cr*p out of my 66 98 convertible trunk.
Strong though, use gloves.
Maybe polish up the bumper with a little #0000 steel wool for polishing.

removing a foil type of sticker !!
Warm up the sticker if it is a foil type of sticker with low temp burnz-a-matic or heat gun, loosen up edges with non sharp edged Putty Knife. After sticker is removed ask wife or girlfriend for a little finger nail polish remover or a small amount of acetone which is what finger nail polish remover is, and wipe the glue off in a circular motion 'till it all ***** up.

Our Volunteer Fire Dept converted a "potato chip" delivery van to a rescue unit. It was almost totally wrapped in decal material. Steam cleaner blasted it all off easily--film, goo and everything. Just FYI. :-)
