after sitting in california and not started for 14 yrs it only took about 1 hr to get it started! i also took it for a drive. what a load off. now i want to convert it to electronic ignition. is the pertronix ignitor 2 worth the extra money over the standard ignitor. are these any good. how about coil?

If you convert to electronic ignition the Pertronix kits are AWSOME! They convert a stock points distributor to a variable reluctor type ignition. It is great if you want to run an "original" style distributor with more modern internals. I had one on my 1964 Olds 98. It worked great.

BTW, I bought the standard kit when I upgraded my ignition.

I can't comment on the Ignitor 2 being better, however I have used the Pertronix systems for about 12 years in a few different vehicles and agree with Olds64 they are AWESOME.
