Took some pics yesterday

The building in the background is a Henry Ford "village industry" Ford Plant. Been closed for a while now, but its a real nice place to snap photos.

Call up all the magazines and tell them you just pulled this car out of that building and it has been sitting in there for 45 years just the way it is like everybody else does!!!

Rears are 15x7 Monte Carlo rims with 235 radials turned into cheater slicks. Fronts are 14x5. Original 442 wheels were 14x6.

Jasen, who converted your tires into cheater slicks---are they for use on the red car or the post and do you plan to race either one?????

The tires are made by Hurst out in Oregon I believe. I bought them for the coupe but since that car is in pieces I put them on the red car. Red car isnt going to see any track time. The coupe will see a pure stock event if it passes tech. Not building it for that but Id like to take it there when its done.

I know around here there are a couple of tracks that have test-n-tune on Friday nights and sometimes Wednesday nights. There really isn't a tech inspection on those nights. I have rented the track several times with some friends and honestly, for me to test---that's the only way to go. The track rental is around $1200-$1500 so if you can get 10 or 15 guys the price is reasonable. The track supplies an ambulance and a couple of safety officials, and the clocks are on. We even got them to spray and prep the starting line. Besides that, you are pretty much on you own. It really makes for it an enjoyable day. Usually, they like the rental to be on a day that the track will be open later that night and if I am not mistaken, I think the rental fee even includes the price to compete in that night's event, (I haven't competed the same day as the rental) unless of course there is more than a normal payout.

Thanks for the link....I am a history buff...wonder if Ford was genuinely concerned about the countryside, or if this was a way to avoid unions .....
