My "new" commuter car. Buick got it right with the Park Ave Ultra.

I love those cars. Big, comfy, reasonably powerful, and if taken car of will last forever.

Caddys are really cheap too. Awesome drivers though. Nice work!

It would have been nice if the power trains were as good on the Caddy's.

What's it got? The 3800? That's better than a Northstar IMO. My Caddy had a vacuum leak that required a manifold gasket replacement at 67k. Their starter is located in the valley of the engine if I remember correctly. (what?) It was very nice though. An AZ car with the Desert Package or something on it. Tinted windows, chrome rims. Very nice.

Funny. My uncle passed at 96. I just got his car. 2001 Grand Marquis. Car rides so smooth.

Gotta love a big ole sedan.

My Dad had a '94 Grand Marquis. It was blue, like the sedan in Reservoire Dogs, so we called the Getaway Car . Smooooooth Sailing...

150k on a 3.8 is just getting broken in. I know of many that have 400k and still going strong.

Arguably the best engine GM ever made. I wonder why they discontinued it?

It's right there with the LS1 no doubt.

Mine has 160k. I've only owed it a couple days so will need to see it anything crops up, but it seems to run and shift smooth as silk, and it does have *****. not as responsive as the cutlass with the 455, but respectable performance. And it is whisper quiet and the ride is sublime.

That's all you need for a daily driver. Decent acceleration and gas mileage. Plus, it's old! Savings to be had in the event of an accident and on insurance throughout the life of the car. Add that to the enjoyment of owning a really nice driving car makes it even more worthwhile. New cars are expensive and pretty much stink all around. Except for
the doo dab electronic features we all did without for so many years.

I bought this SHO new in 2011. 4 wheel drive, Lowered, Corsa, Air Raid, tune by Livernois Motorsports. 12.70s in the quarter. One of the best cars I ever owned.
