'71 Supreme, Power windows, locks, & bench seat removal-installation. Pictures & info
Moderators, feel free to move this thread if need be.
I recently bought a '71 Supreme coupe for parts. It was loaded with power windows, locks, bench seat, trunk, tilt, etc...
I tried to photograph as much of the disassembly as possible for future use by others.
I can tell you that if you want to install p. locks or windows, you'll pretty much have to remove the entire interior, seats, carpet, front & rear door panels, kick panels, upper & lower dash, AC ducts & even the plastic defroster ducts. The wiring harness is secured to the cowl in front of the defroster ducts & install or removal would be about impossible without them gone.
One thing I found that confused me was that the P. lock harness had the three pin connectors for the door pin switches, but they were not plugged into the switches. Instead the regular harness was plugged into them. I don't know if it had something to do with the optional automatic seat back release option or what?? This car did not have that option, but maybe that's why the connectors were there??
Feel free to contact me with any specific questions.

Scott, Was confused by your comments that the 3 pin connector was not plugged in - was that the connector you show under the dash? or on the door? Olds would have had harness that was specific to each option so if you got PW & PL they would have a harness for both, rather than 2 separate harnesses. If it's the connector under the dash, I doubt it could be for the pwr seat back locks, those were fed from a seperate door jamb switch, with their own harness. Is it possible something was puleld out at one time

It has been a long time since I posted this but I think I was talking about the 3 pin connectors behind the kick panels. I'm sure nothing was removed prior to me buying the car but I didn't know why they were not connected to anything?
